Kingsbury Community Information

Kingsbury is an outdoor enthusiast’s playground. Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park alone offers the gamut of recreational activities and facilities. The park’s Sand Harbor features lake-front beaches plus boat launching and picnicking areas. Memorial Point and Hidden Beach provide additional access to the lake. Spooner Lake, also within the park, is frequented for its hiking and biking trails, gorgeous scenery and cross-country skiing areas. Spooner Lake also serves as a trailhead to a section of the park known as backcountry; backcountry is a no-cars-allowed natural area used exclusively for hiking, horseback riding and camping.

One of the best known attractions near Kingsbury is the Heavenly Mountain Ski Resort. The resort spans about 4,800 acres at the California/Nevada border, with a peak elevation exceeding 10,000 feet.
